PERIODONTAL TREATMENT
Healthy gums are only possible with regular oral hygiene.

Treatment of gum disease begins with scaling and root planing (cleaning of the teeth and roots) and the patient maintaining good oral hygiene. If the disease is limited to the gums, then scaling and root planing and maintaining oral hygiene may be sufficient. In advanced cases where the disease has caused bone loss, flap surgery and root surface debridement may be necessary. In some cases, bone grafts may be used during these procedures to partially restore the lost bone. It is important to attend regular check-ups as recommended by your dentist after periodontal treatment to monitor the results of the treatment. This way, if any intervention is necessary, it can be done early.
